Labor positions do not work the same way for everyone. The typical image of labor we have is of a woman lying on bed. However, other positions can be mote comfortable depending on what suits a woman.

Lying on your side is one of the comforting positions that will let your partner rub your back to comfort you. You may even fall asleep in between the contractions so as to rest as much as you can until you need to be up for the right intensity push.
Stand and Lean Forward
Women may also choose a high surface to lean on while bending your knees. Leaning into a wall, desk, exercise ball placed somewhere at a height are all options.
It is good to lean your head, arms, and chest into the exercise ball to have a good grip of yourself. You may then rock yourself sideways during contractions and then walk in between to speed up the process.
Kneel with Knees Wide Apart
Stacking up pillows in front of you while you lean your upper body into them while sitting on your ankles will also allow the baby to press down. Your belly will sink in between your knees this way as you will be be kneeling wide apart.
Have your partner dance with you slowly to comfort you during the process. You may put your arms around his neck and lean into his chest while he will hold you from around the lower waist.
Rocking side to side will comfort you while dancing this way. Adding some music is up to you if you desire to be comforted and relaxed even more.
Sit on a Ball
This position lets you sit on the ball putting pressure off your legs. You may relax your lower back this way while rocking sideways, forwards, back, and round too. You may lean onto your partner sitting at your back to relax yourself during contractions.
Kneeling with Upper Body Leaning Forward
Leaning forward can help you in many ways as you sit on a ball. The baby’s posterior position can cause extreme discomfort for the mother as the back of baby’s head touches tailbone.
Leaning forwards cab encourage the baby to rotate and change the direction whereas opening the hips may also help in such case.
Kneeling with Leaning over Ball
An exercise ball is useful and helpful as it takes all your body weight and you do not have to balance yourself on hands or knees.
The side to side or rocking forward movements you make sitting on the ball will allow your pelvis to open gradually and allow baby to move into a position ideal for coming out.
Double Hip Squeeze
The double hip squeeze does wonders ti provide relief during contractions. Your partner may use palms of his hands and press your buttocks. His fingers should point towards your spine and palms on the meatiest part of your buttocks.
Lying on your Side with Upper Knee Bent
You may lie on your side during labor as that may give you relief at times. Place your lower leg straight while bending the upper one. This position will also help open your pelvis and make your baby descend.
This position allows you to stand and pit one leg on a stool. Open up your pelvis by rotating your leg sideways. You may alternate the leg you put up between contractions to see which one gives you relief. Standing this way makes space for the baby.
