Can Papaya Trigger a Natural Weight Loss?

Papaya is a low-calorie, fibre rich and healthy fruit that improves digestion. Many people share that papaya help them feel less bloated and lighter. There is plenty of data that confirms the anti-obesity role of papaya but most of these studies are animal-based and not verified on humans. The latest study on the efficacy of papaya found that high-fat consumption leads to obesity and raise cholesterol levels in rats. But once they were fed papaya juice, not only they lost weight but their lipid profile also improved.

Previously, a study from 2019 revealed that papaya pulp, seeds and leaves all can improve metabolism and may save from metabolic diseases in rats. They may also lower the risk of cardiovascular diseases, hypertension and high cholesterol levels. These two studies provide a base that papaya can promote natural weight loss.

It is easy to use papayas in the diet but for weight loss, papaya should be incorporated into a healthy and low-calorie diet. For example

Despite so many benefits, the research on papaya is still limited especially regarding particular conditions. In some people, papaya may cause nausea, digestive distress or vomiting which is why it should be used in moderation.

You may also see papaya supplements in the markets but there is not much available determining their safety level. If you are considering taking the papaya supplement, it is better to contact a doctor and go with his advice.
